The Paulson Electric Process
Our proven process operates in three phases, each one built to ensure quality, efficiency, and long-term performance at every stage of your project.
- Pre-construction, where we participate as the lead electrical design team member or work within an existing design to ensure it meets the customer’s goals for functionality. We proactively provide input on design or material changes that could lower the price of the project without affecting their goals. Tangled and delayed supply chains also require a focus on long lead time items, something our experienced team pays attention to early in the project. This is the stage we identify prefabrication opportunities which allow for efficient construction and reduce schedule pressure.
- Construction, where our lead field personnel and project managers work collaboratively to stay ahead of schedule, managing material delivery, coordinating with other trades, and ensuring we have enough team members onsite to efficiently complete construction. Our safety director also engages directly with our field teams to reinforce specific site conditions and general safety values.
- Completion and Maintenance, where we work with our customers after the project is finished to maximize performance of their electrical systems and talk about routine and preventative maintenance. We also provide low-voltage solutions like data cabling, security systems, card access, and camera and video systems through our sister company, PEC Communications.

Our highly trained, experienced electricians mainly serve Eastern Iowa, East Central Iowa, Northern Iowa, Southwest Wisconsin, and Western Illinois from our offices in Cedar Rapids, Dubuque, and Waterloo. We also take on jobs outside our base regions for existing customers or projects where we have particular expertise.
