SAFETY ENSURES QUALITY

Our Safety Program Keeps Your Electrical Project On-Time and On-Budget

We want everyone to go home safely at the end of the day. Our full-time safety director works with our electricians and everyone else on the jobsite to make sure it happens.

Safety is very important to the Paulson Electric team. We are dedicated to providing a safe working environment for all team members and everyone else on the jobsite. We maintain and follow a comprehensive safety program that makes us one of the safest contractors in the field. Our intense focus on leading safety indicators and giving our field personnel the skills necessary to assess, analyze, and mitigate hazardous situations have led to our industry-leading EMR and low number of incidents.

Our safety program is led by our full-time safety director with input and participation from the executive team and leadership at each of our locations. Our safety director meets regularly with the leadership team to discuss jobsite conditions, the safety training schedule, and other data gathered through our reporting process.

New personnel receive safety training before they enter a Paulson Electric jobsite and all field personnel receive regular training in areas such as personal protective equipment (PPE), lockout/tagout program, arc-flash protection, and general hazard analysis and mitigation.

Safe jobsites foster trust and improve productivity. Our investment in safety avoids the delays that come with work stoppages, investigations, or even shutdowns of commercial jobsites and industrial facilities when serious injuries occur. We love to talk about our safety program!

Safety Experts Recognize Our Program

We are routinely recognized by safety experts and our customers for our commitment to jobsite safety. Ryan Companies and John Deere Waterloo Works are two examples of customers formally acknowledging our creative solutions to safety, positive attitude toward safety implementation and documentation, minimal lost-time injuries, and safety program enforcement.

Paulson Electric also regularly receives industry recognition for its safety program and record. Master Builders of Iowa and the Dubuque Area Labor Management Council have awarded our excellence in safety multiple times.

The National Association of Electrical Contractors (NECA) recognizes companies with its Safety Excellence Award and Zero Injury Award. Our safety program has received one or both of the NECA safety awards in 11 of the last 12 years—often making us the only company in Iowa to receive both awards in the same year.
